Accountability Commons is an early-stage effort to develop tools and methods for documenting serious harm and supporting lawful accountability.
We want people to be able to ask clear questions: what is alleged, what evidence exists, what remains disputed, and how was an assessment reached? The standard should be the same for a government, company, armed group, or individual.
Our starting point is practical: preserve information, test interpretations, acknowledge uncertainty, and protect the people whose lives may be affected by a record.
